In celebration of its first decade, Lancaster New City is inviting families far and wide to join its fun-filled Grand Family Weekend 2017 on Sunday, April 23.
Highlighting the importance of family bonding, Lancaster New City is hosting several family-centered activities to help kick-start your summer.
The first of Lancaster New City’s 10 special events scheduled this year, the Grand Family Weekend includes a fun run, a duathlon, and a village fair.
The Family Fun Run, which features 3K, 5K, and 10K runs, is open to participants of all ages.
Participants will be given a timing chip in case some would want to track their own running records. They will also have race kits that contain a race bib, singlet, and a finisher’s medal. The run will start at 5:30 a.m.
The dualthon, meanwhile, is geared to those who are looking for an extra adventure. Featuring a 3 km run-20 km bike-3 km run course, it will be held within Lancaster New City.
It is open to participants ages 12 and above. Just like the fun run, participants will also receive a race bib, singlet, finisher’s medal, and timing chip, as well as a finisher’s shirt. The race begins at 8 a.m.
But if you’re not a sporty type of family, you can still have fun at the Family Fair Village, which features fun activities such as the SpectaculaRUN, Larong Pinoy, and Kid’s Zone.
Participants of the SpectaculaRUN will have to finish six obstacles through a 1.5 km run, while the Larong Pinoy features childhood favorites, such as Patintero, Tumbang Preso, and Agawan Base.
At the Kid’s Zone, children can show off their creativity at the arts and craft stations. Carnival performers will also roam the Family Fair Village to entertain guests. The Family Fair Village will open from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. Entrance is free.
Now on its 10th year, Lancaster New City has been dubbed one of the most family-friendly developments in the south. The Grand Family Weekend 2017 is just the first in an exciting line-up of activities this year.
